Vid Review

This is a live version of 'The Greymen' from the DVD/CD set of 'By the Black Sea'. There's not really a lot to be said except for the fact that's it's live but we covered that.

FEATURED MUSIC REVIEW

LAKE OF TEARS

The thing about a "live" album is that it's never really "live". No matter what you put into it it's not going to duplicate the sound, acoustics and atmosphere of that one night. That being said let's focus on the music. 'By the Black Sea' is most definitely in contention for most ambitious titles of the year and the songs are really good overall but Lake of Tears has a fan base that have developed a taste for the vocals that we have yet to entertain. This is one of those we can put up with maybe two consecutive tracks kinds of bands unless you're hardcore Lake of Tears fan material.

This is an acquired taste. Some will find it rather savory. Others will find it lacking spice. Listen for yourself and judge your own serving of 'By the Black Sea' with a little 'Cosmic Weed'.
